Re-engineering is not the same as documenting what happens today. It asks whether each step should exist at all, who should own it, and what the system should do instead of a person.

Where it usually goes wrong

  • A process grows by adding approvals every time something goes wrong, until nothing moves without the owner’s signature.
  • Data is entered two or three times across departments and reconciled by hand at month-end.
  • An ERP is bought to fix a process problem, and simply automates the old process.

How we work

We map the process as it actually runs, by walking it with the people who do the work, and measure it. The redesign is done with the process owners, not handed to them. We then sequence implementation so that each change is stable before the next one starts, and review the results three months after go-live.
